Shopping Centres have become a familiar feature of the urban landscape and these large and busy complexes present particular challenges for the teams and managers deployed to secure them. Our background of providing security officers and customer liaison officers in Shopping Centres spread throughout the length and breadth of the country, means ESG has developed extensive experience dealing with the nature and diversity of these challenges.
We understand that in today’s market Shopping Centre Managers and owners face many challenges: increasing footfall means improving opportunities for their respective tenants, while providing a carefree, welcoming shopping environment. However, they must ensure that shoppers’ and tenants’ safety are not compromised, therefore security is paramount.
At ESG we can provide advice and teams to cover various aspects of Shopping Centre security:

ESG invests significantly in training Security Officers for the Shopping Centre role and our bespoke training specific to each site is second to none. We match individuals with the necessary skills and personality to specific security roles.
We have developed comprehensive training programmes devised for all the various roles, such as loading bay monitors, car park attendants, mall safety officers, customer liaison officers and control room duties.
We offer many of our security officers / customer liaison officers the chance to undertake a Customer Service Course. This is run in conjunction with the National Learning and Skills Council and is is aimed at NVQ Level 2. It is a vital part of training for ESG officers who work within Shopping Centres.
As a member of the BSIA we remain committed to the welfare of our staff. The benefits and rates of pay for our security staff are on average higher than the industry norm and the hours we expect our Officers to work are generally far lower.
